Annemiek van Vleuten has won the fourteenth edition of the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. The Movistar rider rode away with Demi Vollering on the final cobbled climb and in the sprint the 39-year-old Van Vleuten surprisingly beat her younger compatriot.
The 25-year-old Vollering, normally a better sprinter than Van Vleuten, had to settle for second place. Lorena Wiebes won the sprint for third place from world champion Elisa Balsamo.
