HOOGERHEIDE (NED), CYCLOCROSS, February 5th
Shirin van Anrooij lived up to her favourite status at the women's cyclo-cross World Championships for underpromoters in Hoogerheide. The Dutchwoman rode away from her last rival Zoe Bäckstedt quite early and - on her birthday - soloed to the world title in clever fashion. Bäckstedt was good for silver, Czech Kristyna Zemanová captured the bronze.
